  25. About  AATools 4.1
  26. ====================
  27. AATools is a multithreaded network diagnostic tool.†
  28. Its purpose is to accumulate data pertaining to 
  29. network status and availability, using all of the 
  30. latest development tools in network research.

  32. It is a 9-in-1 utility, including Port Scanner, Proxy 
  33. Analyzer, CGI Analyzer, Email Verificator, Links 
  34. Analyzer, Network Status, Process Info, Whois and 
  35. System Info.

  37. - Port Scanner - analyses hosts and different services 
  38. started on them. Its comprehensive scanning engine 
  39. gathers all the information about the services, 
  40. threads etc. Port Scanner accurately determines the 
  41. mapping of the active services on the appropriate host 
  42. using TCP/IP port interrogation. This information 
  43. is rather critical for developing and/or verifying of 
  44. the security policies;

  46. - Proxy Analyzer - a special instrument, designed to 
  47. manage a database of proxy ervers located all over the

  122.   2000 with the TCP protocol installed.
  123. - For Windows 95 users: if the program claims that a 
  124.   required DLL, WS2_32.DLL was not found then you will 
  125.   need to install the Windows Sockets 2 update. This 
  126.   can be found on Microsoft's web site at
  127. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/bin/W95ws2setup.exe (986K).
  128. - All operating systems require the ICMP.DLL file, 
  129.   although   all Windows versions should be shipped 
  130.   with it.

  136. Installing AATools 4.1
  137. =========================
  138. 1. Make a temp directory on your hard drive. 
  139. 2. Copy and Unzip aat4xx.zip to this directory. 
  140. 3. To install AATOOLS, run the setup.exe program from 
  141.    this directory. 
  142. 4. Setup will guide you through the rest of the 
  143.    installation process.

  148. - Choose Uninstall from the AATools 4.1 program 
  149. group.

  155. - Double-click the on the "Add/Remove programs" icon.
  156. - Search in the list for the item "AATools 4.1" and

  197. only 1-3% of CPU usage.  AEV supports import from 
  198. Windows Address Book (.WAB) as well as through ODBC
